With expenditure being a high priority for many people these days, or more accurately keeping expenditure under control, Apples price increases are very unwelcome to most potential buyers. Plus the laptop they may already have is often all they need, but in the case of the classic Macbook Air M1, maybe the 8GB Ram and (standard) 256GB storage is becoming a problem? Most modern web browsers become the most demanding application on a laptop when you have lots of browser tabs open, and are often the reason a Macbook can slowdown. A solution to this is expanding the ram on the macbook...but it's soldered onto the mainboard on recent Macbooks, including the M1, leaving many people wishing they had bought the 16GB Ram model. In tests this model can ran many more applications at once, Browser tabs, A.I applications and Virtual machines than the 8GB model before any slowdown is noticed.

Depending on the type of work you are doing, the 256GB internal SSD limitations can be worked around with cloud services, or external drives. But not always. Apple produced a 16GB ram, 500GB SSD model of the Macbook Air M1 which is still a very capable machine and in a different class to the standard 8GB,256GB SSD model most people have.

If this sounds like a problem you are familiar with.. We have a solution! Grizzly media have been Apple experts for decades and we now have a service where we will swap out the mainboard of your Macbook Air M1, install either a 16GB/256GB SSD or the 16GB Ram/500GB SSD mainboard into your Macbook and safely and discretely migrate ALL your data across to the upgraded system. It will look exactly like your Mac did before it was sent to us, but will be able to handle greater workloads than before, all at a much cheaper price than buying a new Macbook Air M5.

To be clear, we do sell new Apple hardware too, and it is a fantastically powerful system with many years of new MacOS updates ahead of it. But the cost for a 16GB/500GB SSD is beyond many peoples budgets right now.

The Macbook Air M1 fully supports the lates MacOS Golden gate and is very likely to support MacOS 28 too. After it stops getting support for full MacOS updates, it will still get two years of MacOS security updates, making it totally supported until at least 2030.

So this service may not be for everyone.. But for many it can give a useful performance increase for a small outlay.

The service includes Courier collection of your Macbook Air M1, Physically swapping the mainboard and Touch Sensor. testing all functions, migration of your data onto the new hardware and finally courier return of the Macbook to your address. All work and hardware is given a 12 month warranty.
